“We CARE” Promotions and Radio Broadcast works to rebuild and promote Quartet Gospel Music in Raleigh and the surrounding areas. The broadcast can be heard every Sat. morning on 750 AM, WAUG, St. Augustine University radio station at 8:00 and 1390AM, WEED Radio Rocky Mt., NC at 9:15. Gospel enthusiast from various parts of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia visit Wake Forest annually to celebrate the accomplishments and honor the gospel music pioneers. In 2009,Wake Forest Mayor, Vivian Jones proclaimed the third Sunday in November, Living Legends of Quartet Day.
This year’s celebration expands to Raleigh, NC. On Sunday, August 10, 2014 at 3:00 pm, We CARE Promotions and Broadcast presents Living Legends of Quartet Part One. Slim’s Supreme Angels 56 yrs of service, Willie Banks’ Messengers 44yrs and The Jackson Southernaires of Jackson, Mississippi, 73yrs. will be in concert at Good News Gospel Fellowship Church located at 410 Lord Berkley Rd. here in Raleigh. Also appearing from Raleigh is the First Congregational Male Chorus and The Bass Sisters and Company. Newer groups appearing will be Marvin Bobbitt and The Rising Sons of Roanoke Rapids and The Safeway Travelers of Warrenton, NC. Tickets are on sale at Gospel King Records 1603 New Bern Avenue.
